Icelandic Horse
About Me
My name is Rachel Cox. I have created this site to Educate people about the Equine family. There are many fun and interesting things about horses on this site and and I hope you enjoy them. I am 15 almost 16 and hoping that when I finish high school I will be able to go to college for equestrian business management. I have a goal to achieve, that goal is to live on a farm and run a animal rescue and and have it specialize in equines. Right now I spend alot of time on my grandma's farm with a huge horse named Rocket. Rocket is an eight year old cremello foxtrotter. He's the best in my eyes. This was mine and his first show season and we did great for beginners. We have went to three shows and brought home four first place ribbons and two second, we have not placed below second place yet, but even if we didnt place at all I would still love him. I think that horse shows should be less competitive and more fun. So as you can pretty much see I am a Horse lover. I hope to all of you who visit my site that you have fun and e-mail me with any questions or comments. Please Sign my guestbook.

These small(13.0 to 14.3 hands)stocky horses originated in iceland where they have been used for pack and communication and where later exported to england for mining. They have a varity of colors (eg.chesnut, bay, black, palamino, silver smokey, red, yellow dun, mouse dun, cream dun, grey, silver dapple, and all in tobiano and finish paint, but no appaloosa patterning).Tough and willing, they feature the classic full mane and tail of many northern breeds. They are friendly but "independent".There most distinctive feature is the possession of the fourth gate(tolt) and the fifth gate(pace).
