The Horses Prayer

A painfull story I'm here to tell.

About what happens after the horses sell.

The narrorator is all I am,

I am the useless by-stander so here I stand.

I pat the horse whose thoughts you are about to here,

and he leans in close serving humans even when his hours are mere.

and now we go to the horses mind,

there the true story you will find.

The loud buzz at my ears, stings at my back,

as Im loaded on the truck, the second stack.

I can barely breath my neighbor is so near,

I am ignorant of my future, but I know of the fear.

A day and a half and here we stop,

first the bottom unloaded and then the top.

we gallop out, driven by our fright,

horses are trampled and struggle with all their might.

I am forced into a dark stall,

I can barely move this is too small.

I sense the pain to come,

I can feel my life is about to be done.

So much pain in my head,

I can not move if I could I would have fled.

I am upside down tied by my leg,

Please dont kill me of you I beg.

I want to live the pain so intense,

but nearer and nearer my death I can sense.

Another pain sharp in my throat,

Now warm blood stains my coat.

and in my last breath my last desperation,

I cry to the world to stop the inhumanation.

and now we leave my dear poor friend,

but with his death a message he did send.

Those who are our loyal companions,

go through such disgrace,

such fear they must face.

Free the imprisoned and free the helpless,

and when the days end let you confess,

That you were the savoir of this horse slaughter mess.

This is a poem that I found on the internet that describes exactly what goes through a horses head when they become a slaughter horse. I dont understand how anyone could kill these beautiful animals. It makes me angry that there are such cruel people in the world.
